COMMUTATOR SHORT
LISTEN FOR THE BUZZ A short in the low tension current cap be detected by con* tinuous buzzing in the coil which is in circuit with either, fective wire or timer segment. If there is nothing noticeably wrong with the wire a new wire should be substituted. If the short disappears, well and good.* If it remains,-the insulation of the timber segment is at fault. To, test for the defect, take a couple of leads from the battery; place one on the timber terminal , and the other on the body of the timer. If the circuit is com* pleted the terminal insulation is defective, and should be' re* placed.
