MELBOURNE SEAMEN ANGRY A VICTORY FOR JOHNSON. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright MELBOURNE, March-24. With the object of frustrating the action taken by the management committee of the Seamen’s Union for the re-registration of the union, a meeting of members was convened by Mr Jacob Johnson.
When Mr T. Walsh, general secretary, attempted to take chs.rge of the meeting, there was in immediate uproar, nnd he was howled down. A motion of no-confidence in him was carried, nnd he left the building, accompanied by other Federal officials nnd supporters. The meeting decided to demand the withdrawal of the application for reregistration
