WALES DEFEAT IRELAND
TABLES TURNED IN SECOND HALF FINE FORWARD GAME By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright Reuter's Telegram. (Received March 14, 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 13. In an international Rugby match played at Swansea in fine weather before an attendance of 40,000, Wales beat Ireland by 11 points to 8. Both packs made hne rushes, but the Welsh forwards heeled better than their opponents- After twenty-five minutes’ desperately hard play,- Stephenson kicked a penalty goal for Ireland. Just before the interval Hopkins scored a trv for Wales and Alees converted. In the next minute Hanrahan scored a try for Irelartd, Stephenson converting. The half-time score was: Ireland 8; Wales 5. The Welsh forwards were most dashing. Herrara scored an unconverted try. A beautiful bout of passing by the Welsh threequaiters ended in Rowe Harding scoring a try Rees hit the f:ost with the kick. Wales thoroughy deserved their victory Their forwards, halves and fullback were splendid.
