Pure Vaseline is not only an essential item oi the household medicine-chest 'equipment, .but being an excellent anti-corro-sive, it is a most efficient protection against rust whtn smeared over bicycler, knives, tools, and steel goods of any kind; while sportsmen know how useful it is for 'the similar protection of the metal part of guns. Vaseline is also a first-rate preservative for leather bindings -of all lands. It should' be well rubbed in yrith the hands, and allowed to dry* thoroughly. The pure petroleum jelly itself, without any addition,? is a safe ahd efficacious ally for the house-mother who may be called on summarily to /deal with bad burns, chilblains, chapped hands, skin badly roughened by exposure, sprains, inflamed eyelids, or painful sunburn.'
