DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
SHEARING PLANT DESTROYED. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, March 11. A fire at 3 o’clock this morning de« stroyed the large woolshed, the enginehouse, a stack of oats, and a stack of peas at Benopai Station. Waihopai, owned by W. G. Rudd. The shed waa capable ot accommodating 1400 sheep, and ten stands of shearers. The enginehouse contained a 10 horse-power oil engine and ten shearing machines. In the woolshed were a quantity of glass and clover seed, tents, horse covers, a cbaffcutler, a saw bench, a wool press, a weighing machine, and sundry tools. Everything was destroyed, and the damage is estimated at £2500. The insurances are: On the woolshed and enginehou.se. £1000; on the engine. £135; and on the machines, £135; all in the Alliance Office.
