ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Ladies’ Auxiliary, Boys’ Institute and S. A. Rhodes Home for Boys, was held in the institute, Tasman street, on Monday last, the president, Mrs J. Hislop, in the chair. There was a very large number of members present. The annual report, read by the secretary, was considered very satisfactory. The boarding establishment has been well supplied with towels, bed linen, etc., during the year. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Sirs J. Hislop (re-elected) ■ vicepresidents, Mesdames L. T. Watkins and G. E. Brown, both re-elected, and Mrs C. E. Carter; hon. secretaries, Misses A. McLeod and G. L. Bell, reelected; hon. treasurer, Mrs G. T. Bell, re-eleoted; buying committee, Mesdames Bell, Niven, and Browman. Mrs Grant was elected a member of the auxiliary. Votes of thanks were sent to the Pres* for courtesy at all times. At the conclusion of the meeting the 'ladies adjourned to the dining-room, where a dainty afternoon tea was set out, the occasion being a farewell to Mrs J. McKerrow, who is leaving for England, and Mrs T. P. Hoare, who is leaving for Australia. Unfortunately, Mrs Hoare was not well enough to be present. Mrs J. Hislop and Mrs G. A. Troup spoke of the good work done for the auxiliary by both ladies, and wished them a happy voyage with the assurance of a hearty welcome home on their return.
