AT THE TIVOLI

DOUBLE FEATURE BILL. A story abounding in thrills and suspense, and carrying through it a study of fear and its control of the human mind, has been made into a photoplay in “Wild Oranges,” which King Vidor filmed for the Goldwyn studios. It is the attraction to be presented at tlie Tivoli Theatre to-night. “Wild Oranges” is one of the most popular works from the pen of America’s most celebrated novelist, Joseph Hergesheimer. It was written and published several years ago, before the author had become so internationally recognised. The story deals with a man, embittered against society by the death of liis wife, who sails with one sailor on his yacht to the Georgia coast, and there meets a strange trio—two men, one of them mad, and a beautiful girl.' Tho experiences of tho five during the brief stay in the lagoon make up a most gripping story. Frank Maya plays admirably the role of John Woolfolk,. the man who seeks seclusion from the world on his yacht, while Virginia Valli gives a great performance opposite him. Others in the cast are Ford Stirling, Chas. Post, and. Nigel do Brullier. The photography is exceptional. Most of the scenes were taken in'the Georg’a swamps, in the exact locations described by Hergesheimer in his novel. Also screening is “The Girl in the • Taxi,” a screen version of the famous musical comedy. There wi'l be a good supporting programme.
