DUNEDIN CONFERENCE THE TARIFF STIPULATION. Per Press Association. ■ DUNEDIN, March 10. The fourteenth annual convention of the New Zealand Motor Body and Coach Builders’ Association was held to-day, Mf H. Bate- (Napier) presiding. The tariff committee s report was adopted. It stated that the stipulation that one for every three completed cars be a chassis would result in the progress of th© industry, the employment of more hands, a reduction in manufacturing costSj and a demand for more colonial-built bodies. The answer to motor traders and car owners who resented the stipulation was that many allied trades would be assisted and the secondary industries necessary for the prosperity . of the country. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, O. Cooper (Auckland) ; vice-presidents, C. Cavanach (Auckland), and H. Markham (Dunedin) ; tanff committee, Messrs H. A. Harvey and D. Taylor (Wellington), and Johnson: auditor, Mr Bryant; secretary and treasurer; Mr Vivian Brown.

The next conference will be held in Auckland in March, 1927.
