PROPAGANDA STOPPED BY THREAT OF EXPULSION. Published in ‘‘The Times.“ LONDON, January 26. _ The vice-chancellor of Oxford University, in a letter to <( The Times,” confirms the recent report that members of the University endeavoured to induce Indian students to join the Communist Party. Those implicated were compelled to sign an undertaking, , promising in future not, directly or indirectly, to communicate with a Communist organisation or tci endeavour to propagate Communist ideas. The alternative was expulsion from the University.
