The Rome correspondent of the ! ‘Daily Express” states that the Pope has excommunicated for the second time Monsignor Bonaiuti, the regius professor of the history of Christianity at Rome University, owing to his modernist views. The professor is a disciple of Father Tyrell, who was also excommunicated. The Pope gave Professor Bonaiuti three days to stop his University teaching, to stop publishing religious views, and to resign from the editorship of' “The Review of Religions.” As he would not promise, excommunication was ordered. The faithful are not allowed to have intercourse with the professor.
