DOMINION TOURNAMENT DOUBLES FINAL. The Dominion croquet tournament still continues, and it is not probable that the finals in the championships will be played until to-morrow. Several important matches were played yesterday, though there were no> outstanding games. Interest chiefly centred round the open doubles, in which two matches nere played, and the final reached,, this resulting in a win for Mesdames Watkins ana Pitcaithley from Mrs Johnson and A. Ross. Mrs Watkins remains in several events, also Mrs. Leach and Mrs Johnson, and it is probable that one of these ladies may carry off the ladies’ championship, though they have yet to meet the present holder, Miss Hesketh, who has been playing splendid croquet throughout the tourney. « Sir Francis Wemyss. who was expected to sweep the board,, was yesterday defeated in two events, the open championship singles and the handican singles. He still remains in the handicap doubles. The results of yesterday’s play are: LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. Mrs Leach beat Mrs Henderson. 26 - 18. Mrs Johnson heat Mrs GambriH, 26—9.
