SUMMER SCHOOLS

VALUE' TO TEACHERS TEACHERS’ ENTHUSIASTIC OPINION. “OF IMMEASURABLE VALUE.” : Per Press Association. CAMBRIDGE, January 26. Yesterday teachers attending the summer school held a full discussion of the school in all its aspects. The whole body- of teachers, representative practically of all the provinces of the Dominion, was unanimous and enthusiastic concerning the immeasurable value of the highly instructive and cultural course, and stated they would go back to their schools with a broader vision of the value of their work. All showed an earnest desire to have the movement continued. To that end the teachers will go to their various locations as missionaries. It was felt the aims of the school had been fully realised, not the least being the stimulation of public interest in education. Mr Milner, C.M.G., rector of Waitaki Boys’ School, was unanimously appointed president of the next school. Such enthusiasm prevails that it seems certain the scheme will develop extensively and have far-reaching effects. Mr Canghley, Director of Education, will attend the school to-morrow. The sessions close on Wednesday night.
