LOOKING DOWN ON EVEREST
FRENCH AIRMAN’S VENTURE WILL CLIMB SEVEN MILES. (Sydney "Sun" Cabled LONDON, January 24. The “Daily News” says that the French aviator Collizo, holder of the world’s altitude, record, of 39,586 ft, accompanied hy a cinematographer, intends to make an air attack on Mount Everest, in a Bleriot machine, specially designed and fitted for a flight in thin air, and equipped with oxygen for use above 25,000 ft.
Collizo will go to India in March, and proposes to rise 35,000 ft in order to avoid the air currents'about Everest. When he reaches the required height, he will dive towards the summit and drop a French flag, to which will bo attached & sealed tube containing an account of the flight.
