Mails will not he dispatched or received on Christmas Day, whioh will be regarded purely as a Sunday. THURSDAY, December 24th, the usual deliveWes will be made by postmen. In addition letters (including registered) usually. delivered by postmen may be obtained- upon application at the Postmen’s Branch, Chief Post Office (entrance upstairs from Featherston street) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.’in. The posting-boxes in the city and suburbs, will not be cleared at midnight on Christmas Eve, but the usual midnight clearance will be made on Friday, December 25th. Correspondence addressed to the General Post Office may be obtained upon application until 8 p.m. SATURDAY, December 26th, mails for dispatch by trains for the Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatn, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and" Taranaki district will close at B Auckland and district.
