STATEMENT FOR NOVEMBER

The following particulars of the loan transactions of the Public Trust Office and new business .reported during the month ended November 30th last have been supplied by the Prime Minister:— New loans amounting to £278,553 were paid out during the month ended November 30th, making a total paid out during the current financial yc—.r since April Ist last of £2,300,279. The new loans granted in the month amounted to £105,100. A great number were small loans granted for the purpose of building homes for the applicants themselves.

The new loans granted and awaiting payment on completion of documents amount to £809,112, and advances offered being less than the full loans applied for amount to £74,150-—a grand total of £943,262. Further applications for loans await, ing consideration amount to £691,645. The value of estates accepted during November for administration was £277,659, making the total value of new estates accepted since April Ist last £3,388,746. Tho number of wills held as at November 30th on behalf of living testators was 47,385, the number of new wills received during the month of November being 482. The increase in the rate of interest allowed to estates in the Common Fund and the reduction in the office charges have been advertised throughout the Dominion, and come into operation on .Tamwrv Ist. 1926
