PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS

The president, Mr F. Meadowcroft, presided oyer the usual fortnightly meeting of the committee, which wae held on Monday last. ■ • ' The inspector submitted a report dealing with the activities since the previous meeting. White and the inspector. Captain J. Henry, represent the Wellington Society- at the Dominion Conference of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty 'to Animals, which is to held in Dunedin in January, 1926. The organiser reported that since the previous meeting subscriptions and donations amounting to £l3 15s 3d had been received,- and that sum included two guineas each from Messrs Page, S.M., and Coles Cash' Drapery Storef one guinea each from Mr and Mrs Joseph, Messrs G. 8., Dayey, J. Hamilton, A. de B. Brandon, F. Greenshields and Co., and £1 from Mrs Jackson.
