PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
The president, Mr F. Meadowcroft, presided oyer the usual fortnightly meeting of the committee, which wae held on Monday last. ■ • ' The inspector submitted a report dealing with the activities since the previous meeting. Although a number of oases had been dealt with,, and several reported oases of cruelty investigated,’''none of a very serious nature had occurred.; Several horses.had been found to be suffering from minor complaints, and the owners bad been instructed how to deal with them. *lt was decided that Miss A. White and the inspector. Captain J. Henry, represent the Wellington Society- at the Dominion Conference of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty 'to Animals, which is to held in Dunedin in January, 1926. The organiser reported that since the previous meeting subscriptions and donations amounting to £l3 15s 3d had been received,- and that sum included two guineas each from Messrs Page, S.M., and Coles Cash' Drapery Storef one guinea each from Mr and Mrs Joseph, Messrs G. 8., Dayey, J. Hamilton, A. de B. Brandon, F. Greenshields and Co., and £1 from Mrs Jackson.
