ASSISTED IMMIGRANTS
FURTHER PARTY BY lONIC NINETY-FOUR FOR WELLINGTON. A further party of assisted immigrants, totalling 355, will reach Wellington by the Shaw-Savill liner lonic, which makes port at daybreak to-day from Southampton. Figures for the various ports are as follow, totals lor men being given first, then those for women and children. Auckland, 45, 54, 21—120; New Plymouth, 6,7, 3—16; Wanganui, 2, 4, o—6; Gisborne, 3,3, 3—9; Napier, 10, 8, 6—24; Wellington, 40, 38, 16—■ 94; Picton, 1,1, o—2; Nelson, 1,0, 0—1; Greymouih, 1,3, I—6; Westport, 2, X, 2—5; Lyttelton, 11, 20, 9 40; Timaru, 1,3, 3—7; Dunedin, 8, 15, 2— 25 ; Bluff, 0,1, 0—1; aggregate, 355. Of these, 131 are men and there are 158 women and 66 children. _ Included, in the above are six pub* Ho schoolboys and 46 domestics. Northern passengers will leave by the midday and 7.10 p.m. expresses to-day, and those for squthern ports will proceed by tho ferry steamers. There will be only 'two more immigrant ships this year, the Remuera, due at Auckland on. November 29th, and the Ruapehu, which is expected to arrive at Wellington on December 30tb, both from Southampton.
