FUnsonby, M.P., in a letter in the current issue of “The Nation,” alleges that he has proved with the assistance of a former German general, that the famous phrase attributed to the Kaiser, “Ths Contemptible Little Army,” was merely another fabrication. The general unsuccessfully ransacked the Press and the official files, and wrote to tlie ex-Kaiser, who replied, “I never delivered such n speech. On the contrary; I continually emphasised the high value of the British army, and repeated gave warning against underestimating it.” GERMAN “CORPSE FACTORY” “CRUEL, POISONOUS FORGERY” STRESEMANN’ . Published in “The Times." LONDON, November 1. Herr Stresemann, in a letter to the newspaper “Dispatch,” says that Germany created during the war establishments, to utilise the carcases of animals for industrial purposes. The allegations that the establishments were intended for the utilisation of soldiers’ corpses was officially repudiated as a shameful lie, which Germans who were mourning the loss of many sons on the battlefield regarded as one of the most cruel and poisonous forgeries of the war period.
