Hr M. Cohen, chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board, referring at the meeting last night to the deatfyof General Melt ill, said that while this distinguished soldier had not been brought in contact with the Harbour Board it was only fitting that public bodies should pay a tribute to such an able man, and he had ashed the secretary to write to the widow expressing the hoard’s sympathy. His action was approved. At the meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board last evening the chairman. Mr M. Cohen, referred to the death of the Hon. C. H Izard, who had been associated with the board as its solicitor since 1886. He said the board had suffered a considerable loss in the death of one who had been adviser to the board for 40 years, and he moved that the board offered its sympathy to the bereaved widow and family, and also recorded its high appreciation of his services to the hoard. The motion was carried, all standing.
