PERSONAL AND GENERAL. (From Our Own Correspdondent.) MASTERTON, September 21. The Masterton Gun Club's competition on Saturday was won by D. McLachlan with 17 clay birds, D. McCalmont. C. Grey* R. Buick and F. Taplin 16 “kills" each, tieing for second place. At golf on Saturday Martinborough beat Carterton by 16i matches to 4£. The Wairarapa P. and A. Show has accepted the tender of " Knutson and Jamieson for alterations to the tea kiosk, the price being £lls 10s. Of 'this amount Mr W. Howard Booth has donated £IOO and Mr M. McLeod £ls 10s, so that the alterations will cost the society nothing. Tbe Masterton canvass for donations towards the Carterton Show has produced £126 15s, and the Wellington canvass £323. At the Masterton Gun Club's final competition of the season on Saturday Mr R. J. King was presented with a wallet of notes in appreciation of the excellent service Mr King has Tendered the sport over a period ofmany years. Mr W. Iggulden has been elected chairman of directors of the Wairarapa Carriers' Association.
