TROUBLE BREWING
AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE Por some time past there has been dissatisfaction among the messenger Staff of the House of Parliament because of the attitude toward them of a certain officer of the House, and it is unJ derstood that within the last few days steps have. been taken with a view to bringing matters to a head. A deputation has been i arranged to wait on the proper authority, and proceedings which commenced yesterday have been' adjourned till to-day. The chief complaint appears to be that the messengers, many of whom are returned soldiers, decline longer to tolerate what they allege is the overbearing and offensive manner of the officer in question, _ The case is one that will excite a good deal of interest among the many in touch with the House.
