WIFE DESERTION
EXTRADITION order WARRANT WITHHELD. Per Press Association ! AUCKLAND, July 21. Mr Poynton, S.M., made an order for the extradition of Benjamin Thomas Rowse, arrested at Auckland on a charge that he deserted his wife at Ashfield, New South Wales, leaving her without means of support, but agreed subsequently to withhold the first warrant until Friday morning. Counsel for the accused stated there was every prospect of the wife overlooking the matter or * agreeing to a maintenance arrangement. Counsel for the wife said she naturally followed her three children, whom accused had taken to Auckland. She had to sell her furniture for that purgose, and had just sufficient to take erself and children back to Sydney.
