FASHION WAR DECLARED
ON FLAPPERS—YOUNG AND OLD (Sydney "Sun” Cable.) (Received July 20, 7.5 p.ta.) , LONDON, July 19. The “Daily Mail” correspondent in Rome says that the women of the Italian aristocracy are collaborating with the Vatican in a campaign for the reform of immodesty in dress. They are opposing short skirts and sleeves, low necks,; bobbing, shingling, and smoking, and are urging the abandonment of Parisian fashions in favour of a style that the Italian genius will evolve.
