McCONACHY WINS
FALKINER LEAVES FOR SYDNEY. The big billiards match between McConachy and Falkiner at the Albert Billiards Parlours ended on Saturday evening in a win for McConacby by 414 points. At one stage Falkiner had cleared off his arrears and took the lead, but MeConachy again forged ahead with two or three good breaks to win as stated, the scores being: McConachy 18,000, Falkiner 17,586. McConachy’s breaks were: 131, 249, 146, 295, 289, and 106 (unfinished); Falkiner: 291, 341, 133, 453, and 197. McConachy was heartily congratulated upon his victory by Mr F. W. Vosseler. manager of Billiards, Ltd., and some regret was expressed that a game of snooker was not played at the conclusion. Both players responded, and hoped that amateurs would derive some benefit by seeing them play, and expressed their high appreciation of the playing qualities of tne table, which was as good as any they had ever played on. The tabie is a standard one. and was made in New Zealand. Falkiner travelled to Auckland on Sunday evening to leave for Sydney, where he is due to play in a few days' time.
