REPORTS OF COURT CASES PREVENTION ATTEMPTED. Reuter’s Telegram. LONDON, July 17. The House of . Lords read a seoond time a Bill restricting the publication of reports of judicial proceedings to certain definite statement of fact and penalising offenders to a term of not exceeding three months’ imprisonment and a fine of £SOO. i Lord Justice Darling,, in moving the second reading, explained that the Bill aimed at preventing the publication of mephitic (noxious) details which sickened decent-minded citizens. Lord Cave was unable to guarantee facilities for the passage of the Bill, hut personally sympathised with, its Objects.
