SHARK DRAGS BOAT TO SEA

FISHERMAN ABANDONS FIGHT SAVED BY PASSING SHIP. By Telegraph.—Prcea Assn.—Copyright SYDNEY, July 8. A man fishir*; from a small boat in Susses Inlet booked a 12-foot shark which headed for the open sea, dragging the boat with great rapidity. A choppy sea was running at the time, which made the position dangerous for the fisherman, who hung on, the fight with the monster continuing for an hour and a half. Fearing his boat would be swamped as it #as dragged through the waves, the fisherman finally cut loose. The water was then too rough to row back, and he was drifting further seaward when, picked up bv a passing steamer almost exhausted.
