SCOTS COLLEGE EX-PUPILS

REUNION AND DINNER. Yesterday evening the second annua) reunion and dinner of the Scots College Old Students’ Association was held, when a large number of old boys were present. Before the function commenced reference was made by the president, Mr D. Virtue, to the untimely and sad death of one of the association, Adam Glasgow, who was a very prominent and popular member of the executive committee. Those present stood in silence as a mark of esteem to their late comrade. In his remarks the chairman tended congratulations to the committee responsible fer arranging the function, which was the second annual event. One of the outstanding features of the evening was the fact that the school’s old songs were in front of everybody, and las the chairman anticipated they were heartily sung. Mr ,T. H. Murdoch, present head of the college and, school prefects, represented the present boys. Mr Murdoch was pleased to see the manner in which the old students supported the association, and asked those present (and those absent) to keep the old school in memory. Courage, honour, and independence in thought and in action the speaker emphasised as being the highest attainable mark of one’s career, and he was favourablv impressed with what ho knew of Scots College bovs. The school fostered the oorrept spirit which produced the all round man. Other speakers were Messrs J. MncArtliur. L. Plimmer, A. Bowen, IV. Hnv, D. Virtue, and G. Plimmer. The evening’s entertainments was supplied by Messrs Phipson, Purdy, Wilson. Fraser, and Hailey, and in every case the items were received with enthusiasm.
