MAN SMASHES WINDOWS DESIRE TO RETURN TO GAOL. Per Press Association. GISBORNE. July 8. Whilst a dance was proceeding in a public hall, the dancers were startled by bricks crashing through two of the windows. A man was found in the street hurling missiles at shop windows. The man, whose name was given as George Arthur Thompson, alias Kemp, came before the court this morning, and was charged with smashing five windows, valued at £7O. He had been in gaol for vagrancy, and when he was released he told the gaoler he would return. He was remanded for medical treatment.
