EXPERIENCE AND DASH

Athletic have found some promising youngsters, and this season should see several useful additions to the club. Membership has considerably increased, and there is a large percentage of the cider player* waiting to take the field. The “gym.” has already been productive of some good talent, even at this stage, while Porter and Svenson, who have the experience of All Blacks, will no doubt be extremely helpful, as their recent tour has been the means of giving them several new' ideas. Swain and Osborne, whose hooking was useful last year, will not be available. Other lessen will be McNnught, who may not fie fit enough to play, and Webb, who fjas gone to Christchurch. Hopes are expressed that an ex-Wellington player Jn tho person of John Duncan will lie persuaded to don the club colours, fn tho forwards several old players will he available, chief among whom will he IV. Ryan, Osborne. Adam, and Park. Warwick and Svenson will be in the Slacks, with others of the old fifteen, although Brook may not play. Also

available will be Sutton (who was ill last season), Boyd (from Wanganui), Cookson, Malmanche, Tart (from Old Boys), and the Gibsons. Promise is shown by Tait’s brother, who comes from Technical College. In the lower grades, especially the junior and third, the club expects to be very strong.
