RIFLE SHOOTING

SUBURBS CLUB.* The Suburb* Defence Rifle Club fired a championship shoot over the 800 and 900 yards on Saturday last. Some very fine scores were put up, despite a tricky rear wind, varying at times from dead •in to 14 degrees right. Deputy-president H. R. Hunt came out of his shell again and compiled a very nice 93 off the gun, putting on 45 at 800 and 48 at 900 yards, the latter including a three. Rifleman Aston also did exceedingly well with 85, including 44 at the longer range. With one shoot to go the five leading men arp: RlflemAn A. Harris 609, Dep.-presidont Hunt &95, Rifleman Goodall 578, A. Sherbrooke ,569, Dep.-president J. Smart 566.
