RUN AT MASTERTON KYLE BEATS STANDARD IN *4O YARDS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Times. ”) HASTERTON, March 21.. The Australian meeting run by Wairarapa sub-Centre was held in rne weather The track was hard, and the attendance good. Burness.and Harrison fell in the half mile, the Australian hurting his shoulder, and retired for the rest of. the meeting. Rose went for the record in three mile, but mismanaged laps caused him to retire. He put up Imin 25sec in the mile. Kyle ran a great 440 passing the field in the first £OO yards: Flett (Wellington) and Oakley had too hard a task set them in the cycle event. The, Australians generally performed zeiy well. Results: 100 Yards—First heat: Parker, 1; McEwen, 2; Candy, 8. Time, 10 l-ssec. second heat: Williams, 1; Gully, 2; Grehan, 3 Time, 10 l-ssec. Final—Parker, 1; Williams, 2; Candy, ,3. Time, lOsec. Half Mile Cycle—First heat: T. Oak’ey, 1; H. Baker, 2. Time, 66sec. Harrison and Burbess fe’l in the first lap. Second heat: Flett (Wellington), 1; Chestorman, 2. Time, Msec. Final—T. Oakley, 1; Chcsterman, 2. Time, 63 l-ssec. Flett got shut out of the three mile flat race. Rose pulled out in the ninth lap. and Heffer was the only one to finish. Time, 14min 17 2-5-ec. High Jumn—B. The Press Association message says that in the three miles Rose was set on impossible task, and retired two laps from -home. Heffer (400yds) won the event in llmin 17 £-ssec, which is 27 4-5 sec better than the Australasian record established by Rose at Wanganui.
