“ITALIAN MALTA”
FACIBT SOLDIERS’ CRY THE MALTESE COUNTER-DEMON - 9TRATE FOB ENGLAND. REMARKABLE OUTBURST. Reuter’s Telegram. MALTA. March 19. Aa extraordinary outburst on the part of Fascist militia occurred aboard an Italian steamer which arrived in the morning en route for Tripoli. The militiamen gathered on the deck, vociferously chanted the Fascist hymn, raised cheers for Mussolini and for ‘'ltalian Malta,’’ and hoisted the Fascist Rag astern. Maltese swarmed on the quays and counter-demonstrated for England. Tho situation became threatening. The police unsuccessfully intervened, and the Italian Consul was summoned to the scene, after which the flag was removed, and the militiamen were ordered below. Tho steamer left amid a hostile demonstration.
