COLONIAL BUTTER
big demand on continent.
DANISH PRICES TOO HIGH
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 1, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 28. The position of the butter market generally is regarded as satisfactory, for though tbe visible supplies from New Zealand and Australia are still heavy, tho total due to smve within the next six weeks being about SUU.O'Atons, the total imports for March and April will be smaller than m *.auuary and February, and tbe demand, both at Home and on the Continent, continues strong. Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, and Ireland are all buying colonial butter, and the demand seems likely to be maintained on the Continent so long as the disparity ; n prices between Danish and New Zealand and Australian butters continues. Continental buyers will naturally prefer to pay 17Gs for New Zealand rather than 226 s for Danish, which is little if any better in quality.
