MONEY FOR EDUCATION
USED TO PAY PUBLIC DEBT. MINISTER’S DISCLOSURE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received February 27. 10.40 p.m.) LONDON, February 27. Lord Eustaao Percy, Minister for Education, speaking at Liverpool, announced a forthcoming reduction in the Education Estimates. He emphasised that they did not represent reduced educational services, or pressure from the Chancellor of the Exchequer. He explained that as the result of overBudgeting in recent years several millions, voted ostensibly for education, had gone towards the payment of the Public Debt.
