FAST-GROWING MARKET
FROZEN BEE*’ ON CONTINENT. ARGENTINA BENEFITS. Australian and N.Z. Cahle Association LONDON, February 26. “Weddel’s Review” gives interesting details of the growth of the Continental demand for frozen beef. It estimates that in 1924 the Continent imported 459,000 tons of meat, which is double the quantity imported in 1923, and quadruple the quantity in 1922. Italy took 125,000 tons, Germany 100,000 tons, and Belgium and France each 95,000 tons. All the countries imported chiefly beef and very little mutton.
Argentina and Uruguay supplied 76 per oent. of the imports in 1924.
