INFANTILE PARALYSIS
TWENTY-ONE CASES YESTERDAY. ONE AT HATAITAI. In all 21 fresh cases of infantile paralysis were notified throughout the Dominion during tne 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday. One of these cases was at Hataitai, and four were in Otago. The 21 cases were distributed as under: — Auckland Health District—(One Tree Hill 1, Pukekura 1, Pukekohe 1, Ngatea (Thames) 1, Puriri (Thames) 1, Waitonio County 1) —6. Wellington Health District—(Hataitai 1, Stratford 1, Kapuni (Kaponga) 1, Feilding 2, Nelson 1) —6. Canterbury Health District—(Christchurch City 2, Riccarton 1, Greendale 2) —5. Otago—(Dunedin City 2, Oamaru 1, Kakanui (Waitaki) l)—4. Total for Dominion, 21.
CASES ELSEWHERE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 27. Four new cases of infantile paralj** sis were reported this morning, two in the city. DUNEDIN, February 27. Three infantile suspects, two from the city and one from Clydevale, have been admitted to hospital. OAMARU, February 27. A suspect case, a boy, who was taken to hospital yesterday, has been definitely pronounced as infantile paralysis. AUCKLAND, February 27. Six cases of infantile paralysis have been reported since noon Yesterday, including three in Central Auckland, one in South Auckland, and two from the Coromandel - Opotiki district. Two deaths have occurred in Auckland Hospital, and one death at Te Kopnru. NAPIER, February 27. The first case of infantile paralysis in Napier was admitted to hospital—a girl four years of age. TIMARU, February 27. Another case of infantile paralysis is reported to-day, a girl aged two years being admitted to the hospital.
