A SIGN OF THE TIMES
MOTOR-COACH SERVICE -ACROS.' AMERICA.
. A sign of the times is the fact that ■in a short time there will probably be a motor-coach servico across the American continent from New York to San Francisco, a>distanee of over 3300 miles. It is thought that there are irmny Americans and oversea visitors who would prefer this method, of seeing America in a motor tour under comfortable and up-to-date conditions, than tlio lona rail journey, usually taken in tlie trip across that continent from Atlantic to the Pacific. Another interesting announcement is that M, Citroen, the maker of Citroen cars, which, equipped with Kegrosso caterpillar drive, put up such wonderful drives last year across the Sahara desert (Africa), has now arranged for $ regular commercial service across this great sand desert for the convenience of tourists, etc. The service started at the beginning of this year. The journey is an expensive one, as it costs about £SOO for the return trip. Tourists travel by train to Cblomh Eechar, then board cars for the eirrht days’ trip across the Sahara.. On some stages ordinary Citroen cars are used, whilst on sandy stretches machines fitted with the Kegresso belt drive are needed. ,
