FOOT-FAULT RULE
LAWN TENNIS PROPOSAL. BOTH FEET ON GROUND. (Sydney "Sun” Cable.) LONDON, February 25. The British Lawn Tennis Association is submitting £o the international federation on March 20tli a new 1 foot-fault rule, which provides for the server standing tehiud the bare-line hut within an imaginary continuation of the centre mark and side-lines. The player maff not move his feet until the service is delivered. The British Association also proposes that tennis shall he eliminated from the Olympic Games owing to the existing number of international matches.
AMERICAN PROSPECTS TILDEN AS GOOD AS EVER ? Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, February 25. Although victorious in the fight to remove any question of professionalism as a result of his writing about the game in the newspapers, W. T. Tilden still faces some “kinks” in hia status as a result of his newspaper work, in addition to which he now devotes more time than ever before to both cinema and drama. Tilden nevertheless is expected to carry off the American tennis crown for the sixth successive year and to again form the main link in defence of the Davis Cup.
