NEWSPAPER PROPRIETORS MEET. VETERAN JOURNALIST. Per Press Association. ROTORUA, February 26. The annual meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association, under the presidency of Mr C. W. Earle, was held last night. The chairman feelingly alluded to the loss to the association by the death of Mr H.' C. Duigan and Air D. T. Leys. Amid great enthusiasm, Air H. Brett, who that day celebrated his eighty-second birthday, was created a life member of the association, and presented with a gold meclal in recognition of his great services to journalism. The chairman and Sir George Fenwick paid eloquent tribute to the splendid work of Air Brett, and -at the conclusion there was a great demonstration. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr C. "VV. Earle; general committee, Alessrs H. Horton, E. C. Huie. AV. J. Blundell. C. S. Smith, J. Coombe, and J. C. List; advertising committee, Messrs J. Coombe (chairman), A. D. Seabrook, A. AI, Hester, W. Easton, E. A. Blundell, R. P. Furness; labour committee, Alessrs A. G. Henderson (chairman), E. C. Huie, W. C. Leys, G. S. Codlin, R. H. Gillens, and P. Bond ; Parliamentary committee', Messrs G. H. Dixon. Robert Bell, Palmer, and Jones; paper committee, Alessrs H. P. Blundell, H. Bell, C. S. Smith, A. E. Alanning, A. McNicol, and W. C. Cargill.
