In the House of Commons the Home Secretary (Sir William Joynson-Hioks) introduced a bill to enable a wife to obtain a separation on the ground of her husband's cruelty to her or her children, even if the crueltv did not force her to leave him. The bill also includes within theterm of “habitual drunkard” those addicted to the drug habit.
