Owing to slackness of trade, . notice was given to-dnv to 102 men at the Westport Coal Company’s Millerton mine. It is suggested that the Government might relieve the situation by pushing on with the construction of the Duller Gorge Railway, and also the coastal road between Westport and Greymouth.
