DEATH ON RACECOURSE

OLD WEST COAST RESIDENT. PROPRIETOR. OF WESTPORT DAILIES. P*r Pres* Association. WESTPORT, December 27. Mr T. P. Williams, proprietor of the “Westport Times** and '’Star,*' i collapsed and died as he was leaving the racecourse after the last race today. .Deceased was a native of Auckland, 67 years of age, and had resided at Westport since 1857. He served his time with the late Mr John Three Tyrell, subsequently becoming manager and proprietor. He was a member and ex-chairman of the Westport Trotting Club, chairman of the Westport Permanent Building Society, , and a master of the Masonic lodge. Of late years deceased had not enjoyed the beet of health. He leaves a widow and three grown-up sons.
