DROWNING ACCIDENT

MAN FAIRS INTO WATER RACE, WITNESSES UNABLE TO HELP, Per Press Association.' AUCKLAND, December 26. While showing a party round the Horahora hydro-electric works on Christmas Eve, John Feldt, aged 45, a single man, fell into the head race and was drowned before the eyes of his friends. He was walking across a balk of timber and turned to give instructions to those following him when ha dropped sixteen feet into die swirling water, and was not seen again. He war a carpenter by trade, and came from Mangabao some months ago. He was a native of Denmark, and had no relatives in New Zealand.
