TRAMWAYMEN’S PICNIC. ANNUAL GATHERING AT KARORI. The Tramway Department’s annual picnic was held at Karori Park on Ohristmas Day. when a large gathering participated in a most enjoyable and successful outing. Among those present were Councillors A. L. Monteith. A. W. Parton, and F. Meadowcroft. who represented the City Council ; Messrs. Leah Rolling (rolling stock superintendent), M. Cable (general manager), and McColl (power house superintendent). A feature of the afternoon was the splendid manner in which the children were catered for. Eaob was givon a Christmas stocking on entering the ground, and. there were numerous others attractions for the little ones The officials, who did splendid work, were as under: Supervisor, Mr H. The lucky baby nrize wna won by Baby Tallantyne, the number being drawn by Mr H. Rogers (president of the Tramway Union). The Tramway Band played an excellent programme of music, which livened the proceeding. At the conclusion of the day Mr A. L. Monteith, M.P., oresentsd the prizes and congratulated all the winners.
