The report of the Royal Commission inquiring into the allegation respecting tho regrading of Bulwarra read, finds that Alderman Burke did make a corrupt proposal to Parnhaan, and that such proposal was in response to an invitation iby Parnham. The term of the Commission has been extended to February 14th.

Alderman Burke denied early in December that he bad solicited a bribe in connection with street grading proposals, and saiid that when he first met Parnham the latter suggested to jiim that if the road outside the company’s premises was regraded, the company would make it worth his while. Birrke declared that ho indignantly repudiated suggestion, and that he iyas always of opinion that the roadway in question should he lowered. He also declared himself to bo a practical roadmaker.
