Largo entries have been received and a number of local a-thletee are now in good form. Unfortunately R. A. Rose, Australasian champion, will not be a starter in tho throe-miles event, but Dufresne, New Zealand champion and Silver provincial crois-country champion, will compote, along with D. Todd and other wiell-known distance runners. E. V. Dunbar will sixain bo in nation in the javelin throwing and hurdles. Thr3© • cycle events appear on tho programme-, and these are expected to provide interesting contests. The first four chibs on the shield ladder are ©epa-ratetl only by a few points, and individual competitors arc keen on gaining points for their resnoctive clubs.
