PRIVATE BOX-HOLDERS’ DECISION. RETENTION OF ROUTE SUPPORTED. Per Press Association. PAHIATUA, October 14. A deputation which waited upon the Postmaster-General (the Eton. J. G. Coates) last week in regard to the Pahiatua-Eketahuna mail route asked the Minister in the course of the interview if a pall of box-holders would bo satisfactory. The Minister replied in tho affirmative and a poll has been taken, and tho result is an overwhelming majority in favour of the retention of the old established existing route which start® from Pahiatua. There are GO box-holders on the route, and the figures which have been checked by the local postmaster are as follow:—In favour of the present rout© 50, against 6; neutral, 3; absent, 1. Total, 60. The result of the poll was forwarded to the Postmaster-General, ActingSecretary of tbo Post Office (Mr McNamara), and the member for the district.
