IMMIGRANTS FOR N.Z.
“SOME QUITE A GOOD TYPE.” Speaking of the class of immigrants who arrived on the Arawa. on Sunday, Mr J. R. Kirby, of Featherston District High School, who returned from England by the same boat, yesterday expressed the opinion that sufficient attention was not being paid to'selecting the right type of immigrant. Some were quite a good type, but others appeared to be tho overflow of the larger towns and cities, and he was afraid they would not find it very easy to get on in New Zealand. They were not nearly so sturdy or well educated as the immigrants who. came out 15 to 30 years ago.
