The report on the work amongst the women of India stated: "We 'beg you to send Vis more missionaries. This is the time of great opportunity throughout India. There is growing a restlessness and dissatisfaction among both Hindus and Mohammedans. The lower castes are demanding their rights as men, and are throwing off the yoke of the higher castes. Everyone is demanding liberty, and never have the people listened to cur message with such open minds as at prosent. We want to he able to take advantage of this, and instead we are handicapped by lack of workers/' Warm tributes were paid to the Rev. John Table's work as a missionary in India, and the following motion was carried; "The'society recognises the immediate necessity of making proper provision for Mr Takle and his family, and suggests the following provisions; That a house at an estimated cost of .£I2OO be secured in thpt city in which Mr Takle desires to live, and that this amount be asked for as a special gift from the constituents of the society; that in addition to the annuity provided by the fund a pension of JJIOO a year from the society's fund be paid, such amount to be submitted to such revision from time to time as may be necessary."
