\HATAITAI SOCIETY HIGH STANDARD EXHIBITS AT , ANNUAL SHOW. THE PRIZE LIST. : ■ Though the number of entries at the Hataitai Horticultural’-,. Society’s spring show, which was held in the / Poneke gymnasium on Saturday' afternoon and night, was not so large as those of previous years, the quality of the exhibits was extremely high. Mr C. Watts and Mr WV E.- Chisholm put in some beautiful daffodils, and' Mr H. Poole (Lower Hutt) exhibited some fine spring blooms. An exhibit, by Mr 4. G. Bull, which comprised yellow poppies, baths flame • wallflower - and macebearer. attracted much attention and admiration. \ ,Mr H. A. Huggins .performed the opening ceremony, stating that he was pleased to see what, good,' work the society was ddinig ; in the district. It had raised the standardof horticulture generally, and its work, in getting tlie interest of school'children centered in their little plots was; deserving of great praise. . ' . ' .
